Commercial Water Service Installation

Here is a new commercial water service installation I installed the City of Pittsburgh building inspection required a commercial sprinkler system because of an addition to the existing building. The old lead water service couldn’t put out the demand because it was too small. The new water service was sized accordingly to handle the domestic usage and the new fire sprinkler system. In this particular case, the water service was determined to be a 2-inch type K copper pipe.

There is a 4-inch tapping saddle off the main water pipe in the street and then a reducing flange to accept the 2-inch copper pipe. You also can see the flow test which was after the new water service installation.
