In Allegheny County, a registered master plumber must make the appropriate water pipe connections before a lawn sprinkler system is connected to the potable water supply. A plumbing permit also must be filed with the Allegheny County Health Department plumbing division. Installing a deduct water meter is highly recommended because you will be able to have the sewage fees associated with the water usage from the lawn sprinkler system subtracted from your monthly water bill.
